With the way politics are running these days, I feel like we all have something to say. Some of us keep it on the inside, and some of us fight. These fighters are the activists, ones that stand up for what they believe in, and what is right. The presidency has everyone up in arms, whether you agree with it or not. There is controversy, and as much as we hate to admit it, these four years are going to be rough.
I’m not going to sit on a soapbox and tell you what my opinions are. I would scream it from the rooftop, and my friends know where I stand, but that isn’t what this blog is about. We all have our dreams, passions, and hobbies, and being a political activist is one that is blowing up the internet, and the world combined. The fact that people stand up for this country, are wanting to make it a better place, and fight through thick and thin makes me proud to be an American.
Activists were really the bees knees in the sixties. Radicals who would do everything from protest, burning bras, and even handcuffing themselves to places or things that were important to them. To be that passionate about something has always blown my mind. That someone could be that moved to want to do something so extreme to get a point across. I have mad respect for those who are in this group. For the hippies who only wanted world peace, to the radicals who fought again the war. This was the time to be alive.
Now it seems that censorship has taken over, so much so that a picture could be turned into a terrorist attack. I salute those who won’t take things lying down, those who are for their cause and stand by it. Now is the time to find out what you want to stand for, and just do it.
